e conocen como materias primas a los materiales extraídos de la naturaleza y que se transforman para elaborar bienes de consumo.
Las materias primas que ya han sido manufacturadas pero todavía no constituyen definitivamente un bien de consumo se denominan productos semielaborados, productos semiacabados o productos en proceso
